For fans of With the Father, this is the perfect accompanying novella. I know some people had mixed feelings at the end of book one, especially about Kate and her role, but surprisingly, I had always liked her and With the One was her time to shine. Paul and Kate got the ending they deserved as well as some much needed answers.It only took me an hour to read this novella and what a lovely way to spend the time. Jenni’s writing is delicate and endearing, I have grown to love these characters and I’m so grateful of getting another look into their lives. They are doing more than surviving in the aftermath, they are thriving and it was great to read about.
If you loved the first book, then you need to buy this!! ~Ava

great read. I enjoy this author's work very much
After finishing With the Father, I knew I had just read a fantastic book, but I was just left feeling a little shellshocked. I was okay with the ending, but mind was still spinning in circles from the end of the book. This novella helped resolve everything for me and put me in a happy place.
I didn't like the ending. I wanted to but I just didn't. Writing was excellent. The story was good...until the end. I would read it again but I can't seem to pick up the next book. So that is why the rating is what it is. I think you should read this book but be warned the ending...just not what I wanted...
So glad the author gave us this wrap up sweet little novella to With The Father. As much as I enjoyed book 1; I didn't totally buy into Paul and Kate. However, this novella helped me to feel a little more connected, and it was so nice getting some closure to the loose ends from the previous story. If you read With The Father, you owe it to yourself to read this one. Thanks Jenni!
WoW! A beautiful continuation for Kate and Paul! Finally answers (which make me feel better than the ones I assumed) to questions left open.. Of course, leaving me to wonder and think was smart and made the answers all the better after the anticipation. Extremely well written with great twists in a short story, and amazingly leaves you complete! I highly recommend With The Father (don't forget to re-read just Kate and Paul's parts) and With The One and give yourself time to contemplate in between!

Jenni Moen has written the absolute perfect companion novella to With The Father. Yes I was completely satisfied with the original book and the way it ended. However, this gift of what happened after those last words were read made me smile so hard I could burst.
We get to see how Kate and Paul are faring one year later and how well Isabelle is coping. And the resolution dealing with that horrible night of loss gave me some closure I didn't know I had needed.
The last 2 chapters made me swoon and Paul might just be the very best man ever written about.
I absolutely loved With The Father and With the One is that special bonus everyone needs to read.
A huge 5 ++++ stars and highly recommended. Start with With the Father first and then enjoy this gem.
